Impact of big data in India

Big Data is the next big thing, petabytes of data that can be stored and evaluated in a couple of minutes is a computational miracle. What you buy, where you go, what your preferences are, can all be saved
somewhere in the digitized form. The Big data provides tools that can be used to connect such data and make sense out of them.

you know what is Big data and its Evolution in Different sectors.

In this post I am going to look into the Big Data computation in the light of  Indian Context. How it can be useful or disastrous in a country like India. Let me first touch upon the topic as to why this analysis is important. The biggest problem in India is it's population. There are 1.25 Billion people which grows at a rate of 1.51% per year. This leads to uneven distribution of resources like power, water, food, roads etc.

Advantages

1) Agriculture

The big data can be used to define which state should get monetary help in agriculture. The Indian states by taking appropriate data can predict the states which will have bumper crops and states which will fall short; which state needs more fertilizer subsidy and which state doesn't. These patterns can be easily  recognized and addressed  and better allocation of resources can be undertaken.

2) Food

The big data analysis can be used to search patterns like the parts of the country that are providing excess food and the parts that are producing less food. These patterns can also be used to define how the food grains from nearest areas of surplus food can be transferred to the wanting areas.

3)Security

The Big Data analysis can be most useful in the field of security. The big data can be used to store and analyse the incoming data that has the potential of becoming a security concern.

4)Railways

The railways can used the big data to view the areas that need improvement. Where is the security of the train most vulnerable. Where can one save money and which are the popular roots that can be used to make money all these pattern analysis can be done with the help of big data.

Disadvantages

The disadvantage would be the wrong use of the data collected by the government. The prediction of bumper crops can lead to steep price rise in areas where the production was low. In security the government can start to interfere in the private lives of the people, predicting their behavior etc..

Therefore, the big-data can be a blessing as well as a curse.
